MS student, Marine Biology Program

Danielle Zimmermann is an M.S. student in the Marine Biology program. Her thesis will focus on the oyster disease, Dermo, and how it affects the growth of eastern oysters. She is using scope-for-growth, a physiologically based stress index, to detect and define the effects of disease under varying salinity and temperature regimes.  Danielle earned her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, where her work focused on the role of artificial reefs in supporting fish communities.
